Working to better offer its user base a more comprehensive way to connect and communicate, rental marketplace, Zumper, has launched an in-app messaging system that connects users with Zumper’s leasing partners. An industry-first, this messaging system will keep users updating and connected to all things rental in order to ease the process for both tenants and landlords.

Shalin Amin, Zumper’s CEO, explained:

“A lack of response is the single biggest and most consistent concern that we hear from renters. Truthfully, the rental market is plagued with communication problems. Unanswered emails, lost applications, and ghosting, has created an endless cycle of disappointment for both renters and leasing partners alike. And yet no one in the industry has created a solution that adequately addresses these issues.”

With this new messaging system, renters can tap into all of their conversations in one place, offering a more organized way to communicate and store information. Users can share any application materials and documents with landlords through this feature, as Zumper’s platform is considerably secure.

Research done by the company itself found that the new messaging feature increases landlord responsiveness by 30%.

Amin said:

“At  Zumper we’re on a mission to remove the friction from the rental experience. Our messaging feature was built from the ground up with the sole purpose of building a responsive rental marketplace that finally solves the communication challenge, from the initial point of contact, through submitting an application.”
