British property portal Zoopla has announced that the homelessness charity, Crisis will be 'taking over' its homepage as part of a Christmas campaign to drive donations to the cause.
In August Zoopla entered a three-year partnership with Crisis. The charity works to support people experiencing homelessness and conducts research and lobbies the government around the issue.
The latest takeover will be accompanied by articles on Zoopla's blog all aimed to raise awareness of the issue and drive donations around the festive season. The portal's employees have also been volunteering with Crisis and have managed to raise £55,000 for the cause so far this year.
“Crisis at Christmas is a fantastic initiative and we’re delighted to be playing our part to drive both awareness of the campaign and homelessness, as well as donations to help those most in need this Christmas. We’re just getting started when it comes to our partnership, and I look forward to working closely with both the Crisis team and our agent customers to make further inroads next year when it comes to ending homelessness,” said Zoopla CEO, Charlie Bryant.
Zoopla is not the only real estate portal that campaigns for the homeless. Spanish holiday home specialist Kyero donates 1% of total revenue to the Spanish homelessness charity Hogar sí RAIS and U.S. portal Zillow is at the forefront of research into the topic in the United States.
