In line with its commitment to offering industry-leading innovation, Zillow has announced a new way for home hunters to tour a property from the comfort of their own home. Called 3D Home®, the new service offers interactive floor plans and new media content creation for those looking to sell a property through Zillow, and it’s free.
3D Home® allows for a simpler, more efficient way to offer a virtual tour for a listing. Whereas different media types were once separated with limited listing details, the new service offers a dynamic guide to help home hunters navigate the listing online. 3D Home® combines still images and AI-generated floor plans to give a more accurate sense of the listing.
Zillow has been barrelling towards complete contactless home selling processes since before the pandemic. With the start of lockdown procedures, the company has ramped up its innovation even more. After its CEO announced that remote work could continue indefinitely, the company put time and money into making its virtual home tour capabilities the forefront of its offerings. 3D Home® is just the next step in leading the industry through innovation.
Josh Weisberg, VP of Zillow's Rich Media Experience team, said:
"We are redefining the virtual tour experience by using AI to break down the barriers between listing media -- like photos and virtual tours -- and listing data, such as square footage and room dimensions.
"This new integrated experience will help shoppers better understand the relationship between still photos and the layout of the house, provide a better sense of the space and home features, and improve the overall shopping experience."
The new service is available in 25 markets, with plans to expand into more markets throughout 2021.
