The University of Utah Department of Athletics has announced a new partnership with InXAthlete to better connect student-athletes with high-quality employers.
InXAthlete is an online employment platform, free for candidates, that connects student-athletes with employers who value the skills that athletes bring into the business world. The platform’s proprietary online interface was built for student-athletes by student-athletes to create a simplified way for employers to seek out job candidates that fit their needs. The platform will be integrated with the University of Utah’s athletics program at the beginning of the 2019 fall semester and introduced to the student-athlete body throughout the year.
InXAthlete’s platform offers businesses an efficient option for finding potential employees by means of a searchable, sortable database of student-athletes as well as a simple and easy-to-use job posting function. Now that the platform is integrated with the University of Utah, students will be able to access the platform – called InXUtes – via the university’s custom school platform and connect with many local, national and global businesses that student-athletes would not have had easy access to otherwise.
“We want to get student-athletes good jobs, and we want to get them hired fast,” said Cody Ferraro, former Division 1 lacrosse player from Lehigh University and Co-founder of InXAthlete. “We are so excited to be working with the University of Utah athletics program to bring more connections and opportunities to their students.”
“Post-graduation success is a huge priority for universities and athletic departments nationwide,” said Max Wessell, former NCAA All-American wrestler and Co-founder of InXAthlete. “The InXAthlete Custom School Platform provides a seamless solution for student-athletes to increase the return on their hard work, both academically and athletically.”
InXAthlete operates on the premise that student-athletes make excellent assets to any workforce because of the discipline, dedication and other soft skills learned from engaging in collegiate athletics. The InXAthlete platform showcases the unique ways in which those soft attributes – such as teamwork, multitasking and dedication – can be translated into practical applications in any industry.
“We are so excited to partner with InXAthlete to enhance our new student-athlete development program, the Ute Academy,” said Ashley Lear, Director of Personal Development and Student Services at the University of Utah. "Their platform will enable our students to connect and network with employers, both locally and nationally, and facilitate engagement between our current and former student-athletes.”
“We are delighted to be one of the first collegiate athletic departments in the nation to partner with InXAthlete,” said Nona Richardson, Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director at the University of Utah. “We are very proud of the academic success of our student-athletes and recognize the hard work they put in to earn their degrees. Partnering with InXAthlete will allow us to broaden our support system by providing mentoring and career opportunities, as well as enhance our community service presence.”
