TripAdvisor has join its affiliates HouseTrip and FlipKey in agreeing to pay Orange County, Florida, taxes on bookings made through its sites, according to the travel booking agency.
The agreement to pay tourist development taxes adds the travel-booking giant to a growing list of platforms that now pay a bed tax to the county in the fast-growing home-share rental market.
TripAdvisor and affiliates started collecting the taxes on January 1st on all Orange County property owners using the platform.
The move comes on the heels of Comptroller Phil Diamond inking a similar deal with HomeAway and its affiliates in December.
