Traveloka answers demand for alternative booking with new feature

Traveloka, an online travel booking platform, introduces a new service that offers another way to book.

Traveloka has formally introduced a new feature offering alternative accommodation to meet the growing demand for such facilities from its customers.

The new feature, called Villas & Apartments, was launched in September this year to meet the increasing demand for alternative accommodations, Traveloka Vice President for Market Management John Safenson said in a press briefing in Jakarta on.

 “Ever since it was launched in September, the number of villas and apartments listed in Traveloka’s new feature has grown to 240,000 units both domestically and abroad."

Based on research institution Statisa’s 2018 Global Consumer Survey report, the demand for alternative accommodations such as villas, apartments and hostels grew 24 percent globally and is predicted to rise even more in the future.

Recent top destinations selected by Traveloka users were local places such as Bali, Bandung, Jakarta and Puncak, West Java. Meanwhile, popular overseas destinations picked by users were Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
