The digital transformation that companies face today in all areas and sectors have to lead to innumerable changes that pose a real challenge for organizations.
This was precisely the central theme of the day held at the InterContinental Hotel Madrid, organized by the consultant Faculta, representative of PROSCI, and specializing in the Change Management of companies. The importance and challenges of the executive leader were analyzed within the digital transformation of companies, as well as how the training of employees is key in the transition of organizations.
For Mark Dorsett, Executive Vice President of Global Business at PROSCI, people are the most important part of the digitalization process. In fact, according to data from this pioneer and leader in research on Change Management, companies that effectively manage changes that affect the workforce is up to 6 times more likely to succeed in their objectives, than those that do not.
“Digitalization has more to do with people than with technology since the potential of technology is only useful in the way people use it. In this sense, it is not easy for employees to understand that their lifelong work will change and, getting them to do it is much more important than the technology we are going to implement."
Mark Dorsett, Executive Vice President, PROSCI
According to the latest studies carried out by PROSCI, an active and visible role of executives within the company is decisive throughout this process.
Dorsett explained that a leader must be able to transmit future changes in the company to their staff, giving them awareness regarding business goals, the reason for changes, and the benefits it provides to society, the company, its work teams, and the individual - all, in turn, making the transformation more engaging, inviting, and productive. This ability is indispensable for executives when leading companies today in all sectors (IT, energy, finance, human resources, etc.).
The attendees of the event were able to implement, in addition, all this knowledge in a panel moderated by the Director of Faculta España, Julián Pérez Duarte Escobar, in which the guests could answer some surveys that allowed them to identify opportunities for improvement in the leadership of digital transformation. After that, a debate was initiated by Mark Dorsett himself, Roberto Konigs and Víctor Romero, Co-founders and Managing Partners of Faculta, Nancy Poppy, Microsoft Customer Success Manager and Paula Cosentino, Leader of Change Management of OneTeam of Banco Santander, which concluded with a question and answer time in which the public could raise their questions.
The meeting was attended by more than 50 companies and organizations from multiple sectors such as energy, financial, consumer goods, and transformation consulting, among others.
