Anyone who’s received physical items or services off of the internet knows that reviews are the best way to determine whether something is worth spending your money on.
A recent study by the Consumer Federation of America (CFA) reported that Zillow has the most useful agent reviews for consumers. The agent profiles on Zillow include important categories like current listings, past sales, price history, and customer reviews.
The study reviewed and compared Zillow, realtor.com, Yelp, Facebook, and HomeLight when it comes to the availability to view past sales history and reviews of a select number of agents across 30 cities in the US. The conclusion was that Zillow’s agent profiles offered the most information for the average consumer to sift through with the superior reviews, given that Zillow vets all reviews on the site.
Zillow also offers the highest percentage of agent profiles that include reviews and past sales compared to the other companies analyzed in the study.
Stephen Brobeck, of CFA, said:
“Customer reviews on Zillow are not an unbiased source because almost all are generated by agents who contact past clients.
“However, Zillow reviews contain information useful for consumers and are less biased than those on agent websites.”
