Madrid-based rentals startup Spotahome says it managed €217 million in transactions in 2024, and guaranteed more than €40 million of rent from tenants in 185 countries in the past 15 months.
Founded in 2014, Spotahome now operates in 104 cities and 28 countries in Europe (plus Dubai)—and says it has generated a total of €830 million in rental transactions since it launched in Madrid ten years ago.
Today, Spotahome's website says it has over 180,000 rentable units available on its platform, 110,000 of which have been verified and visited by the company's "Homecheckers", who photograph and take video tours of rental properties so the company's primarily international audience doesn't have to.
The firm has over 13,000 active landlords and says it gets two million unique users on its website monthly.
Alejandro Artacho, CEO and co-founder at Spotahome, said:
"I couldn't feel more blessed to have taken the enormous risk back in 2013. I am eternally grateful for the decision I made, because it has given us the privilege of building our own culture, surrounded by incredible people who have been with us to this day, many of whom are here with us today after many years.
"In addition, it has also allowed us to grow personally and professionally much faster than we could imagine. And yes, we have gone through ups and downs, we have gone through the biggest crisis that our sector has ever experienced, but we have come out much stronger than before.
"Spotahome continues to grow, continues to inspire and continues to bring together the best of the best to provide the best service."
