Small Victory for the SayNoToRightmove Campaign

November 1, 2020

SayNoToRightmove has seen a small victory as a number of agency branches have left Rightmove. Though the amount of branches that have left is only just 1% of Rightmove’s total customer count, it still represents Rightmove hitting some hardships.

The counties affected by this decrease include:

  • Essex (down 6)
  • Gloucestershire (down 4)
  • Herefordshire (down 6)
  • Lancashire (down 4)
  • South Wales

Richard Dixon of The Yorkshire Property Guide, which records the agents who sign up with Rightmove, said:

“These Rightmove figures are depressing because they show an industry that is utterly addicted to, and dependent upon, this website.”

The reasons for these various branches leaving Rightmove differ between agents quitting the portal, closing down operations, and selling to rival agencies.
