A tech entrepreneur and former agent and has launched a service that calculates the exact address of Rightmove listings.
Alex Beagrie, founder of conveyancing platform ExchangeTrain, developed the Chrome extension—named "Addressfindr"—so agents can save time on manually finding out themselves.
Beagrie will sell usage rights to agents for the purpose of canvassing at £99.99 per download.
He said:
"Addressfinder means agents will be able to find the exact location of hundreds of properties on their patches listed on Rightmove by competitors in the time it currently takes to find one address manually.
I talked to several of the upmarket estate agency brands in my home town about whether they mined Rightmove for addresses, and one told me they paid someone £300 a month to do the digging for them.
“I’m going to just charge a one-off payment to download my widget, which means smaller agencies will be able to compete with larger or more corporate competitors."
According to the Addressfinder website, the service "uses public domains to acquire its information and can only find full addresses of residential sales properties that have been sold in the past and that Rightmove hold data for".
