Salesforce aims for unprecedented talent growth in Spain, and globally

Salesforce, a global leader in CRM, is estimating to create 48,600 new direct jobs in Spain and generate more than 17 billion dollars in turnover between 2019 and 2024, according to the results of an IDC report on the economic impact of this multinational and its ecosystem of partners and customers in local economies in terms of employment and turnover.

Globally, the manufacturing industry will lead job creation with forecasts of 765,800 new jobs by 2024. As for billing, the financial sector will be the one that generates the most revenue with 224 billion dollars.

The IDC report also deepens the growth of specific professional profiles with high potential, such as specialized jobs in artificial intelligence, which will grow 44%, and IoT-related jobs growing up to 38% annually.

Cloud computing is what's really driving this growth and leading to a series of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, IoT, mobile tech, and related social networks.

All of this is creating new sources of income and jobs that further boost cloud growth, creating a continuous and virtuous cycle of growth and innovation.

According to IDC, by 2024 almost 50% of the cost in cloud computing software will be linked to digital transformation and will represent almost half of all software sales.

Global spending on cloud computing until 2024 will grow 19% annually, from $179 billion in 2019 to $418 billion in 2024.

Technological talent gap

"The gap in technology skills will become a major obstacle to economic growth if we don't encourage everyone - regardless of race or gender - to prepare for the Fourth Industrial Revolution," says Sarah Franklin, Executive VP and CEO of Platform, Developers and Trailhead of Salesforce. "With Trailhead, our online learning platform free, students do not need to borrow to get a good job, anyone with an Internet connection has the same opportunities for training in the skills needed to get a job within the ecosystem of Salesforce."

Relevant data about the ecosystem refers to organizations that spend on cloud computing subscriptions also invest in auxiliary products and services, so that the Salesforce ecosystem in 2019 is four times larger than Salesforce itself and will grow to almost six times more by 2024.

About 61,000 indirect jobs in Spain

IDC estimates that between 2019 and 2024, Salesforce will promote the creation of almost 61,000 indirect jobs in Spain.
