We've spotted six interesting stories around the world in this week's Product Roundup, including some healthy competition in the UK.
But we'll start in France and Switzerland, where immersive tours and AI are the name of the game...
OnTheMarket has overtaken Zoopla as the number two platform in the UK in terms of lead quality, according to lead management platform Agent Response.
Independent analysis from Agent Response shows that 37% of OnTheMarket leads in June 2024 responded to a follow-up questionnaire, while only 25% of Zoopla leads responded.
Rightmove led the way by some distance with a response rate of 48%.
Zoopla has announced that it will be the official data partner of Channel Four's "Worst House on the Street" television series.
The show will use Zoopla's unique data on housing prices for the six-episode series, which follows the story of would-be buyers investing in 'doer-upper' properties.
Nikki Cole, Director of National Sales at Zoopla commented:
"Zoopla is the brand the UK thinks of first and foremost for house price information.
"This partnership provides real value to Channel 4’s Worst House on the Street programme, so it was a no-brainer. Not only will it help inspire buyers and sellers this summer to get in touch with their local agent, but it will also help inform the nation on what you can get for your money in different parts of the country."
Baltic Classifieds Group, which operates several market-leading classifieds sites across Europe, has outlined updated offerings in its full-year financial results for 2024.
Both of its specialist real estate portals in Estonia—KV.ee and City24.ee—now allow users to sign contracts for rental properties. Furthermore, both portals have introduced a background check for tenants to vett would-be tenants.
Dubai-based ViewIT has a new category on its real estate portal, specifically for short-term rentals and holiday homes.
The new function offers rental stays by week and month. With the tagline "UAE's only video holiday homes portal", ViewIT's featured listings all have a short video tour.
Speaking to AIM Group, Farhan Junaid founder and CEO at ViewIT said:
"The companies listing the properties as short-term holiday lets can rent them out for multiple months with the idea being you pay slightly higher on a monthly basis but you pay for a fully furnished accommodation with all the utilities included and someone that comes round and cleans and maintains the place a few times a week.
"With work from home on the rise, the ability for people to get freelancer visas in Dubai and the advent of the gig economy (Upwork, Fiverr, influencers etc), a lot of young people in the city are wanting flexibility in their rentals."
