Platform for lawyer health, hiring, and benefits, Jurdu, launches in the U.S.

Jurdu, the first digital community for lawyers focused on career and lifestyle improvement, has launched. With a goal to help lawyers live better, the website provides career development and lifestyle content uniquely suited to the modern lawyer and law professional.

Jurdu is a home base for today’s lawyer. The platform serves as a gathering point for current and future lawyers to engage, learn, share, and find guidance together. The website provides editorial content, expert advice, and interactive quizzes. It also features a community forum, Sidebar, in which members can discuss and share across Jurdu's five core Pillars: Work + Growth, Money, Health, Fun + Lifestyle, and Community + Relationships. The result is a holistic approach to helping lawyers increase their knowledge and life satisfaction, presented in a lawyer-specific framework.

Founded by former practicing lawyers Sang Lee and Jon Strom, Jurdu is grounded in decades of legal field experience across “BigLaw” firms, startup law, legal headhunting, law-career coaching and training, and overall legal assistance. As a leader in the legal world for decades, Ms. Lee also owns SJL Attorney Search, a top legal recruitment company in New York, as well as Volta Talent Strategies, a national management consultancy that helps law firms and lawyers connect and thrive.

“We’ve all either worked with or for lawyers at various points in our careers. Having experienced just how difficult a job lawyers have balancing demands in both professional and personal settings, we saw a real need for guidance to navigate it all—and an opportunity to provide it,” says Lee, CEO. “Lawyers are intelligent, driven, committed, and focused on succeeding for their clients, but both our own experience and market research shows that they don’t focus that same energy on their own personal and professional goals.”

Jurdu launches as a fully responsive site. Users can take advantage of a free two-week trial, after which they can choose to purchase an annual subscription ($100) or monthly membership ($10/month). With full respect to both its community and their employers, Jurdu’s users will be anonymous to other members of the site so they can feel comfortable sharing their knowledge and experiences freely to create the kind of productive, transparent, and supportive community that lawyers need.
