Adevinta appoints new strategy development lead for real estate

Marketplace giant Adevinta has appointed Irénée Berthet as the firm's new lead for real estate.

Berthet was promoted after spending six years at Leboncoin, a market-leading horizontal portal in France and an Adevinta subsidiary.

Berthet will oversee the development and implementation of local and global strategies for Adevinta’s real estate businesses, including Fotocasa and Bitaclia in Spain and AVendreALouer in France, and horizontal/generalised marketplaces in France, Italy, the Netherlands and Germany.

 

Rightmove to lose CFO, Alison Dolan

The British property portal Rightmove has announced that its CFO, Alison Dolan will leave the company to take up the position of CFO at retailer Marks & Spencer. Dolan has a 12-month notice period at the portal and will remain in her post while a replacement is sought with a departure date yet to be finalised.

Johan Svanstrom, CEO of Rightmove, said:

"I and the entire team at Rightmove would like to thank Alison for everything she has done at the Company. She has made a significant contribution to the success and leadership position of Rightmove, the UK's largest property portal."

Dolan has been Rightmove's Chief Financial Officer since 2020 following three years at News UK as its chief strategy officer.

 

View Media Group enacts management shakeup

The Australian challenger portal operator View Media Group has announced a string of executive appointments as it looks to build momentum and take on incumbents Domain and REA Group.

VMG has tapped its rival for talent with no fewer than three of the the five appointments announced today having previously worked for Domain.

Sian Rowlands will go from VMG's strategy team to take on the position of Managing Director of Financial Services where her role will be to oversee VMG’s partnership with banking group ANZ. Former Domain man Damon Pezaro will oversee product strategy & development for the group as the Chief Product Officer while Emily Rayner will be VMG's new Head of Content.

Barrie Bowles moves from being Digital Lead of property media and tech agency The Today Business to Digital and Data Director across View Media Group and Jordy Catalano will move from the Chief Product Officer role which he has occupied since the public launch late last year into an exciting new role as Director of Consumer Services and Markets.

View Media Group is the company started by former Domain boss Antony Catalano and billionaire Alex Waislitz that is building assets to take on Domain and REA Group. It runs the challenger portal site Realestateview.com.au as well as the off-plan property portal platform AD Group and marketing specialist The Today Business. VMG also owns shares in the utility management company Beevo and PropTech AI firm Propic.
