Pazo de Vilane, a pioneer in the production of startups that has been active in rural Galicia since 1996, has chosen from a total of 70 projects, the three best female entrepreneurship initiatives that participated in the contest launched last month of November on the occasion of the International Day of Women Entrepreneurs. With this Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, Pazo de Vilane has wanted to reward female entrepreneurship, as well as recognize those entrepreneurial initiatives that are led by women.

Projects in rural areas in different parts of Spain that aim to settle population and fight against depopulation, environmental awareness, sustainability, circular economy, services focused on women, motherhood and children, gastronomic culture and healthy eating, biosafety cosmetics, crafts, marine litter recycling, education and health, animal therapy, coaching and emotional intelligence, sustainable decoration, photography, and forest baths are just some of the proposals presented by the candidates.

Piedad Varela-Portas has stated:

“The great acceptance that this initiative has had has been impressive. Not only because of the number of projects, but also because of their quality. It has been frankly difficult to choose the winners. Support for entrepreneurship is part of our corporate DNA. Without a doubt, the level reached in this first edition encourages us to think that this initiative still has a long way to go. It is a way to create community around entrepreneurs to make their path easier."

Three winning initiatives and a second prize

Sabela Fuentes is both artisan and restorer. In her “slow decoration” project, she proposes to give new life to obsolete goods that she recovers through different techniques. From Sabela and A Factoría Atelier, Pazo de Vilane has valued her excellent training as artisan and restorer and the transversality of his project that combines crafts, recycling, recovery, circular economy, depopulation of the rural environment and social insertion - principles and values that the Campero egg company considers very necessary and important.

Karina Sánchez is an anthropologist and proposes in Organic Women the production of organic fertilizer from organic matter collected in the city of Lugo. Karina Pazo de Vilane has valued its environmental and circular economy, as well as the challenge of its implementation.

De Patricia and “A la Galega” Pazo de Vilane recognizes the value of the Galician product, the culinary innovation it proposes, the alliance with local farmers and the return to the rural environment.

In addition, the high level of the projects presented, has made Pazo de Vilane awarded a prize to Abilia Soriano and Susana Infanson of Abi & Susy BioCosmética for their project to develop cosmetic products based on plant extracts and be 100% organic.
