OLX has consolidated all the brands under its Brazilian classifieds operation under the new name Grupo OLX.
The leading horizontal classifieds marketplace in Brazil, the now-named Grupo OLX includes real estate portals Zap Imóveis and VivaReal. The new branding will be unveiled at the Transamerica Expo Center in Sao Paulo on September 20, 2023.
In a post on LinkedIn, Marcos Leite, CMO and general manager of real estate at Grupo OLX, said:
"As part of this change, our real estate vertical ceases to position itself as ZAP+ and starts to write this history as OLX Group, translating the power of our connections, evidencing the strength of the three largest portals in Brazil, ZAP, Viva Real and OLX Imóveis, to further expand the real estate market, generating more value for our clients' businesses.
"In these 13 years, we have transformed the way Brazilians consume second-hand products. In 2020, when we acquired the ZAP Group, we gained leadership in the real estate segment with the ZAP, Viva Real and OLX Imóveis portals.
"The change to Grupo OLX expresses our vision and commitment to innovation and excellence." [Translated from Brazilian Portuguese]
Meanwhile, Grupo OLX has also appointed Florence Scappini as its new VP of Marketing.
In a post on her personal LinkedIn account, Scappini said she is "convinced that we will reach new levels of success and contribute to the continuous growth of OLX Brasil".
Grupo OLX is a joint venture between Adevinta and Netherlands-based Prosus, and competes with unicorn Quinto Andar for the number-one spot in South America's biggest market. The good news for Grupo OLX is that it occupies the top two steps on the podium in terms of web traffic on its portals:
Prosus' half-year results released in November 2022 indicated that revenues at Grupo OLX increased by 15% YoY—following a return to profitability for the first time since 2019 in June of the same year:
