Nonprofit launches new job portal for Hawaiians

Businesses in Hawaii have been granted a new avenue to finding potential candidates to fill their vacancies through Opportunity Portal, launched by local nonprofit ClimbHI recently.

Companies can post internships, scholarships, jobs and events geared at students. ClimbHI President and CEO Julie Morikawa said that educators also can utilize the platform to supplement their curriculum. They could, for instance, assign students to volunteer for events through the portal or work with businesses to create their own learning experiences.

As Morikawa told PBN in a previous interview, the idea was born out of frustrations that Morikawa has been hearing from students and job seekers, as well as from businesses looking to connect with prospective hires and educators seeking opportunities for their students.

The ClimbHI Opportunity Portal, she explained, is designed to bring all of these stakeholders together.
