The Indian real estate marketplace operator NoBroker has opened an office in The UAE. The new office has been set up in Dubai's Business Bay to cater to non-resident Indians (NRIs) who are interested in purchasing property in India.
Saurabh Garg, Cofounder & Chief Business Officer of NoBroker said, “The NRI interest in the Indian residential sector had peaked during Covid and is still quite strong. We realized that customers feel more confident about their purchase decisions when dealing with a company representative in person. GCC has a very vibrant Indian community.
We have been catering to the demand from GCC over the years and a large percentage of our customers are from the region. So, this office space was a natural step."
The move to expand overseas comes hot on the heels of a $5 million funding round from investors that included Google, General Atlantic and Tiger Global.
Founded in 2013, NoBroker is a property sales and rentals marketplace that cuts out third-party agents. The company charges a subscription fee to users and has also moved into adjacent areas such as cleaning, decoration, pest control, community management and repair services in recent years.
The company claims to be India's first PropTech unicorn after raising a $210 million Series E round back in November 2021.
