NHN has recently launched a cloud-based and integrated work collaboration platform for enterprise customers - their first foray into the highly profitable realm of software as a service (SaaS).
SaaS is one of three major categories of cloud computing services along with infrastructure as a service and platform as a service.
The company said its TOAST Workplace service, a result of five years of development, is composed of three elements ― Dooray!, which integrates mail, work management and messenger systems; Groupware, which combines electronic approval and message board systems; and enterprise resource planning (ERP), which offers human resources and financial services.
Among the three, NHN released Dooray! first, and began running open beta services for Groupware and ERP.
"Dooray! improves business efficiency significantly as it enables customers to organize data and materials systematically in one place," Baek Chang-yeol, who has led development of the TOAST Workplace, said during a media conference held at the firm's office building in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province.
