Following the sudden exit of Erwin Hymer employees who were laid off, a new job platform has cropped up in Canada.
Dennis Garcia was personally struck by hearing in the news many in the region were forced out of a job when Erwin Hymer was put into receivership.
"Personally I'm not in that circumstance but I have been in the past," Garcia tells KitchenerToday with Brian Bourke." If I use one of my older colleagues as an example. When they had lost their job in the past they did find it difficult to search for something new."
That's when he decided to create Kitchener Works, a brand new Facebook page. The page is meant as a gathering point for both employers and those looking for work. Garcia's hope was to open what he saw as a much needed open line of communication.
"I felt with this group it would bring opportunties to light for people who otherwise wouldn't be able to find these opportunities and also get local business and entrepreneurs and even individuals who have small tasks to get these people who are looking for work."
