Portuguese home hunters now have a new property portal to help them on their journey with the launch of Supercasa.pt.

The New Supercasa.pt App

Launched on the 1st of October by Iberian proptech company Janela Digital (JD), the new portal features primary and secondary market properties in the residential as well as commercial sectors. Aside from the web offering, Supercasa is also available as a mobile app (pictured).

Founded in 1999, Janela Digital started life as a CRM specialist in Portugal with egoGORealEstate, one of the leading CRM products in the country. The company also offers data services through its infocasa.pt product and operates the casa.sapo.pt property portal which sees some 1.2 million visits per month according to Similarweb.

Janela Digital is also active across the border in Spain where the company plans to open a sister portal to Supercasa.pt, although no timeline has been set for its launch yet.

According to a company press release, the Portuguese portal has already signed up the major real estate brokerages to list and has doubled listings volumes in the three weeks since its launch.

“Real estate brokers in Portugal were eager for new projects and the enormous success of our new portal
demonstrates it”, says Joao Figueiredo, founder and managing partner in JD.

“On one hand, thanks to our egoRealEstate CRM software, we maintain a close relationship with almost every real estate broker in the country and, at the same time, we have more than 20yrs of know-how of consumer property-search experience that comes out from the Casa Sapo portal."

"At the end of the day we’ve just used the best technology available to deploy SUPERCASA and we backed it with a strong communication campaign on major national TVs, radios stations and online media” added Figueiredo.

The new upstart portal will be competing with a well-established market leader in the form of Spanish headquartered idealista as well as OLX Group-owned portal Imovirtual both of which see over 4 million monthly visits in a market with just over 10 million inhabitants.

Although exact numbers around listings, agencies and traffic were not available to the press, a quick scan of Supercasa's Lisbon page shows it has over 19,000 listings for the city of Lisbon (market leader idealista has around 17,000 listings for the same area).

To take on the incumbents Supercasa is backed by a €2 million media campaign with the company claiming that total investment in the project could rise as high as €9 million.
