Speaking at this years' REINSW Women in Real Estate (WIRE) conference is a prominent figure of the #MeToo movement and a lead prosecutor in the lawsuit against The Weinstein Company, Louisette Giess.

Geiss was a keynote speaking at the REINSW WIRE conference at the Art Gallery of New South Whales (NSW) in Australia, she gave a lecture on equalizing power dynamics within the real estate industry, which has been run by men since the very beginning.

The Real Estate Institute of NSW holds this conference once a year, bringing together women working in real estate all over the world to one place where they can speak on professional development and personal inspiration while making lifelong network relationship.

Previously, Geiss was a producer, actor, singer, and writer for over 20 years. She left the industry after her experience with Weinstein, hence her deep involvement with not only the #MeToo movement, but the case itself. After she left the glamour and glitz of Hollywood behind, Geiss moved into social media, working in title insurance protection and settlement services for both real estate buyers and agents.

Geiss said, “We have a responsibility to empower women and men to work towards ending harassment, particularly in industries where there is a growing gender imbalance. Regardless of whether you are in the real estate industry or entertainment industry, it’s incredibly vital that we respect one another and work towards ending the negative power struggle that has been widely accepted. We need to shift away from what women and men have been asked to accept for hundreds of years. I feel strongly that we need to hold each other up and hold each other accountable. Let’s create a new reality where both women and men are equally respected and therefore, enjoy a better work environment because of it.”

REINSW President Leanne Pilkington said, “We’re extremely honored to have Louisette speak at this year’s WIRE conference to discuss this very relevant issue. We can all learn a great deal from Louisette, as a women’s rights advocate and champion of change. We are very excited to give Australian women the chance to hear her.”

Among the other talented speakers at this years' WIRE include: Veronica Morgan, the founder of Good Deeds Property Buyers, who presented on taking control of difficult conversations; Imogen Ball, REA's Branding Specialist, who spoke on overcoming the challenges modern-day women face in the business world and how to build up your brand; Co-Founder and joint Managing Director of Morton Cathy Baker; Dr. Louise Mahler, an expert in micro expressions and an international leadership influencer; and New South Whales' Domestic Violence NSW CEO Moo Baulch.

The WIRE conference brings in over 300 professionals working across the entire industry, including sales, management, commercial, auctioneering, and agency sectors.
