Matterport, the 3D mapping company recently acquired by CoStar Group, has announced a partnership with MLS software provider FBS.
FBS is a mobile MLS system that runs the popular Flexmls Platform, allowing real estate professionals to interact with the MLS on their terms. Flexmls has over 330,000 subscribers in the US and a suite of customizable products for its users.
Now, Flexmls users will be able to add Matterport tours and upload media captured by the AI-powered Property Intelligence tool to listings pages.
Michael Wurzer, CEO at FBS, said:
"This integration provides the license terms needed to include this rich content in our customers’ MLS compilations, enabling them to remain the premier source of real estate data and media in their markets — meaningful innovation that benefits real estate practitioners and consumers.
"Our customers have been manually adding Matterport digital twins to Flexmls for years and, on the surface, this integration simply makes what they’re already doing easier."
RJ Pittman, CEO and Chairman at Matterport, said:
"Our 3D digital twin technology set the industry standard for the virtual tour, and now we’re automatically delivering precise property information to Flexmls customers for any type of property anywhere in the world.
"Our advancements in AI, automation and property insights, when combined with our partnership with FBS, offer a solution that saves time by automating property data entry, enabling FBS’s customers to better serve their clients with efficiency and ease."
It is unclear whether this deal was made independently of CoStar's imminent acquisition (and therefore management) of Matterport but it is interesting to note that CoStar will essentially be taking root in FBS's MLS provider via Matterport.
