Spanish market-leading portal idealista has released another tool which we at Online Marketplaces are big fans of. At the beginning of May, we reported on the portal’s new virtual home staging tool which shows users how drab interiors on some listings could look with some TLC. This week the Madrid based company has released a tool that lets homeowners see the potential their house has to generate electricity with solar panels.
The new tool is named idealista/energy and it uses data returned from flights over the whole country by specialist aircraft to calculate the square meterage, optimum angle for solar panels and potential output they could generate. The tool can also be used to give an estimate for the cost of installing solar panels and the time the panels would need to become profitable for the owner.
Spain has government subsidies of up to 50% of the installation fee for solar panels and this new tool is bound to pique the interest of more than a few Spanish homeowners.
