The leading Spanish real estate portal Idealista has launched a tool that helps its agent customers enhance the descriptions accompanying their property listings.

According to a company press release the tool is the first of its kind in the Spanish real estate sector and is already available to the portal's agent customers.

The new "texto intelligente" tool takes an input of at least 200 characters and enhances the description of the property using listing features from metadata fields. The agent can either publish the description generated by the tool, edit it or choose to write their own description before uploading the property to the portal.

Since the beginning of 2023, Online Marketplaces has been tracking a surge of AI-related announcements from real estate marketplace businesses.

It seems that for the most part real estate portals are in the experimental stage trying many different applications of AI technology on their businesses and seeing what works. Other marketplace businesses that have used AI to help agents with their listing descriptions include OnTheMarket in the UK, Propiedades.com in Mexico and RentSync in Canada.
