Siemens Mobility Spain, a subsidiary of Siemens AG specialized in transport solutions, has carried out the first edition of an intrapreneurship program whose objective is to strengthen and promote the entrepreneurial spirit of its workers and the new ways of working within the company.
As explained by the company, the rapid advancement of technology has caused large companies to fight to keep up with the rhythms and trends of small businesses that are changing industry standards.
One solution is to promote continuous learning through entrepreneurial programs that allow workers the growth and freedom of experimentation to develop their activities and find the solutions that the company needs.
With this objective, Siemens Mobility Spain has organized a competition aimed at collecting ideas to improve the experience of passengers on their train journeys. After a first round of ideas, the finalists presented their business proposals to a jury formed by the CEO of Siemens Mobility Spain, Agustín Escobar, and other executives of the company.
After the deliberation of the jury, the winning teams were announced, who will have the opportunity to experience the Lean Startup methodology in the first person by Tetuan Valley, a startup accelerator.
Tetuan Valley has developed a training program in entrepreneurship methodologies together with Siemens with the aim of providing tools to the workers of the technology company that allow them to detect needs and create solutions to real problems quickly and effectively.
The two-month program includes sessions that will consist of talks and workshops on entrepreneurship methodologies given by innovation experts. From how to start a project, through the realization of pitch, effective presentations, hypothesis validation, definition of business models, metrics, investment, marketing, communication, and even the development of the minimum viable product.
The teams will receive comments from experts on improvement points and will continue working on their projects after each session.
In addition, a hackathon will be held in which each team will develop its prototype with the support of experts in new technologies and developers. The program will conclude with a Demo Day, in which the teams and their projects will be the main focus and the culmination of their efforts will be celebrated with a graduation of the program.
