Guesty's Settles to Release Info on Airbnb

August 4, 2020

Airbnb is one of those services what consumers love but those within the industry love to hate. Not only do hoteliers side-eye the app, but governments around the world have had to rethink holiday laws and ordinances to either put pressure on the app or change what they allow in their own countries.

Guesty, which property managers turn to for all of their property needs, is in one such dispute with local government over illegal listings on Airbnb and other short-term rental platforms.

Surrounding illegal listings, Guesty was originally against releasing confidential information on platforms like Airbnb, but has since agreed to settle in exchange for selecting the records the company willingly shares, itself.

The investigation of short-term rental platforms in NYC is ongoing.
