Fuzu, online career development platform, has recently celebrated its first anniversary of launching in Uganda after coming to fruition in Kenya back in 2015.
According to the Fuzu Country Manager, Alvin Katto, the brand has managed to triple the number of Ugandan users on the platform from approximately 20,000 users to close to 70,000 currently since the official launch last year.
“Our mission and the reason we wake up and come to work every morning is to build a platform that allows people to unlock their full potential and in doing so achieve fulfilling careers. Fuzu is not just a job board but is a personalized career companion that supports its users at every stage of their career. This is why we have been able and continue to grow so fast with very minimal marketing.”
Fuzu’s success over the past 12 months can't be underestimated, having worked closely with a number of top companies in Uganda to link them to employees for the jobs they are hiring. Some of the big names they have worked with include Jumia, Safeboda, Mercy Corps, ICEA Life Assurance, and Tugende.
The platform has an AI based recommendation engine which attracts relevant candidates to listed positions. Additionally, the site also utilizes ‘CV, psychometric and aptitude analytics’ to shortlist and qualify candidates which saves companies 80% of the time they would have taken to sort them.
