Facebook may be on track to become the new leading U.S. job portal

Behemoth social media network suite Facebook is already prepping to make ads for jobs, loans, and credit cards accessible to every user on its U.S. platform.

The goal is for everyone to be able to search on Facebook for these ads, which should reduce discrimination: "If these ads are visible to everyone, access to business opportunities will definitely increase," says Galen Sherwin, Senior Attorney at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), leading American non-profit organization that works for civil rights.

Previously, Facebook showed such ads only to certain users who - according to their data - fulfilled certain criteria such as a high income and extended education. Even shopping habits factored into the distribution of these ads.

Free access to these opportunities, however, is liable improve the social mobility of many US citizens.
