The Ontario Chamber of Commerce, alongside the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce, have recently debuted the Discover Ability Network for job seekers with disabilities to find and apply for positions that can accommodate their disabilities - or as the Chamber calls it, "discoverabilities".
Ontario Chamber Rocco Rossi said the Discover Ability Network Hub is designed to connect potential employees and employers and help bridge the skill gap affecting businesses across the province and beyond.
“We don’t want to leave anybody behind,” he said. “We believe this portal is important to connect people, provide programs, training and speakers.”
The idea is rooted in a partnership Ryerson University and the Ontario Chamber of Commerce began about five years ago, said Sault chamber CEO Rory Ring.
“I like to call it a dating service for employers and employees. It helps connect people and jobs and is a great way to fill the jobs in our community,” he said.
