The Vancouver-based real estate portal REW is producing a series of big-budget YouTube shows to put the expertise of its agent customers in the spotlight.
Named 'Real Tours' and inspired by shows like Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, the show features agents from the British Colombia region being driven around the neighbourhoods they are experts on and demonstrating to REW's host what's special about their area and the service they provide.
Agents wanting to participate in the series must stump up $24,000 plus taxes for a 20-30 minute video episode including behind-the-scenes content which will be promoted across REW's channels and can be used in the agent's own marketing.
According to REW President, Simon Bray, the production level is "somewhere between top YouTube creators and Netflix" with no expense spared for cars on trailers, drones and even police escorts.
The series was launched to a packed house of agents in downtown Vancouver last week (pictured above) with production set to run through July and August before the first episode airs in September.
Bray was involved in a series of neighbourhood showcase videos with the South African portal Private Property in 2015 but said that a portal producing a show with this level of local insight with such high production values is a first.
