The premiere Canadian industry network for cannabis-related HR professionals is preparing to launch, and none too late - cannabis companies are on a path of rapid growth to keep up with scaling and supply shortages, and HR workers are necessary for the high-volume hiring needed to keep up.
The new network provides HR professionals in the regulated cannabis industry an opportunity to learn, share, collaborate and build relationships.
"This is the 'green rush' and cannabis companies are growing at a breakneck speed, which creates unique challenges for HR leaders," said Alison McMahon, Chair of the HR Network Strategic Advisory Committee and CEO of Cannabis At Work. "HR professionals are seeking a platform to share strategies on topics like high-volume recruitment and benchmark data on pay and benefits."
Founding members of the network include CannTrust, Cannabis At Work, Emerald Health Botanicals, Maxton HR, WeedMD, and Zenabis. Membership is open to individuals and corporations in the cannabis sector.
The network officially launches during the Lift Expo in Vancouver starting with a workshop on Executive Compensation practices on Jan. 11 from 9 - 11 a.m. at the Pan Pacific hotel. This is followed by a panel discussion on Total Rewards in the Cannabis Sector on Jan. 11 from 2 - 3 p.m.on the Demo Stage at the Lift Expo at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
The workshop is open for both members and non-member of the HR Network. More details are available at www.cannabishrnetwork.com
