Hires, fires, resignations, promotions. The workplace merry-go-round continues to revolve. Here's what we've spotted in the past month or so...
Adevinta Benelux, the operator behind Marktplaats.nl and 2dehands.be. is set for a major C-suite reshuffle.
Both CEO Annemarie Buitelaar and CMO Gregory Kukolj have announced their intention to leave Benelux by the end of 2023.
They both announced their exits on LinkedIn this month—on the same day.
Buitelaar leaves after 14 years at the Group (formerly eBay), including five years as CEO, while Kukolj joined Adevinta in 2020. Buitelaar doesn't appear to have a new role lined up yet, while Kukolj has already announced that he will be relocating to Mexico with his wife.
Whether or not this was a strategic announcement or a coincidence remains to be seen.
The pair's respective decisions to move on may be connected to the recent flurry of headlines about parent company Adevinta's ongoing takeover bid, worth more than $14Bn.
French portal Bien'ici has named Jean-Marc Torrollion as its new honorary president.
Torrollion is the former president of FNAIM, the French National Association of Realtors—and has also served on the Board of Bien'ici for the past five years.
Torrollion will continue to represent Bien'ici to the community of real estate professionals as well as support the management of Bien'ici.
Cyril Janin, president at Bien'ici, said:
"I am very happy with this appointment and that Jean-Marc Torrollion can continue to support us as Bien'ici ambassador to our customers and our ecosystem. Jean-Marc is an eminent member of the real estate community, he contributes to its understanding, its evolution and its sovereignty."
Filip Fiedorow has been appointed as the new Chief Marketing Officer at Polish horizontal marketplace OLX.
Fiedorow replaces the outgoing Marcin Seinkowski, bringing 20 years of marketing experience with him. His previous roles include stints at Lidl, IKEA and Netto Polska.
Kirsten Neybergh has been named the new Director of Sales at the AVIV Group-owned Belgian market leader, Immoweb.
The appointment is something of a coup. Before landing at Immoweb, Neybergh worked for 12 years at Mediahuis, the parent company of Immoweb rival portals Zimmo and Logic-Immo.
In a company LinkedIn post, the new Director of Sales said:
"My next professional challenge was to combine commercial, strategic and human aspects. The Director of Sales position combines all these elements. Moreover, I love evolution and movement in life. It's in my DNA. I also felt this dynamic at Immoweb."
Digital Classifieds Group (DCG) has named Mark Nosworthy as the new group CEO.
Nosworthy has been tasked with growing DCG's marketplace presence in Asia after the Group acquired Lamudi—which operates in Indonesia and the Philippines—from Dubizzle last week.
Nosworthy's CV boasts previous CEO experience at BProperty in Bangladesh (another DCG acquisition, in January 2023) and Kaidee.com in Thailand.
