Kenny Bruce, one of the co-founders of Purplebricks as well as one of the founders for the highly anticipated Boomin platform, has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday honor’s list.
The MBE was awarded for “services to charity and the community” in Larne, County Antrim, a move that might make waves within the British property industry as Purplebricks doesn’t have the cleanest reputation among its peers.
On the award, Bruce said:
“I was completely blown away when I received notification that I was to receive an MBE and I really am so humbled. Anything I have done for Larne FC and the surrounding community has simply been my way of giving back, because this town has given me so much in my lifetime."
The MBE, or Member of the Order of the British Empire, is awarded for an outstanding achievement or service to the community. This will have had a long-term, significant impact and stand out as an example to others. It is the 'entrance'/lowest rank of the order and allows you to use 'MBE' after your name.
