The French agent-owned real estate portal Bien'ici has partnered with the primary real estate comparison specialist Ikimo9 to help boost its agent customer mandate numbers.
As France suffers from a prolonged downturn in its housing market, real estate portals are rushing to find ways to provide value by bringing their agent customers more seller mandates.
Bien'ici is the agent-backed competitor of AVIV Group-owned leading vertical SeLoger and the Adevinta-owned horizontal player LeBonCoin.
The portal's latest play sees it partner with Ikimo9 to give agents access to the comparison site's SaaS tool for new home sales. The idea is that agents can look through primary real estate inventory held by developers and offer to sell it rather than having to prospect developers for their stock individually.
Agents can sell the property directly and receive a minimum of 4% of the sale price or they can be an introductory party for 1% of the sale price, capped at €2,000.
The tool is similar in scope to the Iris platform being rolled out in Latin America by the portal operator 360 Latam. Iris is effectively an MLS for developers to sell their stock via agents with the portal company taking a commission for making the connection.
