Bien’ici, one of France’s largest portals, has acquired Habiteo for an undisclosed fee.

The purchase of compatriot startup Habiteo turns the newfound Group into an entity worth over €40m turnover a year with 170 employees.

Habiteo is a leader in the 3D technology sector, and is dedicated to new real estate. Users can take 3D tours of for sale properties as part of a 100% digital customer journey.

Cyril Janin, CEO at Bien’ici, explained the reasoning behind the acquisition in an interview in Immomatin. He said:

“In terms of real estate, we are seeing an increasing use of digital technology by the French. This phenomenon, which is closely linked to the health crisis, is reflected in an increasingly strong consumer demand for 3D models and interactive maps.

“The acquisition of Habiteo allows Bien’ici to move upmarket in the real estate development sector.”

Janin has been in situ for just over a month, after he replaced outgoing CEO David Benbasset in May 2022.

Bien’ici, much like UK portal OnTheMarket, is owned and operated by agents. It closed its previous funding round in February 2021, bringing total investment in Bien’ici to €33m. This is the first acquisition by the company.
