Property Portal Watch Roundup: Day Two

October 27, 2022

The second day of Property Portal Watch kicked off with discussions with Simon Bray, president at Real Estate Weekly (REW); Martin Waeber from Swiss Marketplaces Group; Max Steinman, CEO at Rentsync; Piet Derricks from Immoweb (Belgium).

The second session focused on how technology is changing real estate marketplaces. Davor Ancic, from Velebit AI, demonstrated how AI and machine learning almost tripled session lengths for users searching portal sites, including photo editing and generative AI to create visuals from properties that haven’t been visited in person!

We then moved onto the metaverse. Rafael Bonnelly Ricart from Evveland explained how the Metaverse could be worth up to $5 Trillion by 2030 with the emergence of Web3—the idea of ownership of purely digital assets.

Conference sponsor Floorfy explained the vast potential of virtual tours for portals looking to accelerate transactions by removing the need for physical property visits.

Gemma Coles, managing director at European portal Kyero, which caters to international buyers then delved into how portals can extend their sphere of influence to include concierge services.

In the afternoon session, Tom Nichols from Just Move In won this year’s Pitch Club, before Online Marketplaces’ own Edmund Keith took the stage to explore the nature of PR in the portal world.

Then Josué Calvo, Director of Applied Intelligence, explained how addresses are not properties as he deep-dived into “late entity resolution”, before Görkem Öğüt closed out the day by outlining the exceptional potential of automated valuation models in the booming Turkish market.

In the evening, attendees are set to enjoy a night of cocktails, cocktails and cocktails at the Property Portal Watch gala event, sponsored by Iovox. Iovox also threw in a few surprises, but it’s not for non-attendees to know!!
