China-based classifieds giant 58.com is set to unveil a new VR feature for homebuyers later this year.

58.com will showcase the AI-enabled home-decoration technology at this November's Global Property Awards & Expo (GPAX) awards ceremony in Shanghai.

The new tool leverages virtual reality to deliver immersive decoration and viewing experiences for prospective home buyers that allows users to switch between different decoration styles effortlessly for a comprehensive, realistic home-buying experience.

The technology, which will be hosted on 58.com's property site Anjuke, will rival the virtual reality listings offered by Beike, which uses its in-house VR lab Realsee to provide digital maps, 3d tours and panoramic images to prospects. It's a nifty bonus that could extend Anjuke's market leadership position over Beike:

58.com recently hit the news when CEO Yan Jinbo penned an open letter to employees warning them that unprofitable segments will be shut down in 12 months.
