Some people are looking for a job, and others are looking for more than that: a career, something that drives their life and offers purpose and an outlet for passion.
Financial services company TIAA — in collaboration with career builder LinkedIn — has launched CareerPurpose, a platform for connecting workers to career coaching and employment opportunities at non-profit organizations.
TIAA and LinkedIn partnered on the project after discovering there are people who want to work exclusively for non-profit organizations. A 2018 study by TIAA revealed existing non-profit employees are twice as likely as other employees to define success as “helping others and their community.” About 57% of millennials — the most represented generation in today’s workforce — said they want a job they’re passionate about, according to a LinkedIn survey.
“TIAA recognizes that more and more professionals are looking for a sense of purpose in their careers, and we built CareerPurpose by TIAA to help meet those needs,” says Roger W. Ferguson Jr., president and CEO of TIAA. “Inspired by our clients and their commitment to serving others, we joined with LinkedIn to help provide these professionals with every opportunity for success and for the kind of career satisfaction that comes from learning and developing themselves.”
