OnTheMarket continues to flex its technological muscles with the launch of a suite of features that the portal claims is the first of its kind for the UK's major portals.
"Accessible features" is a search filter for all of OnTheMarket's listings, with specific search functions for properties with wheelchair accessibility, wider doorways, wet rooms, ramps and lifts.
OnTheMarket says the addition of the new features completes phase one of the portal's accessibility strategy, with more features due in the coming months.
The agent-owned challenger portal has made great technological strides recently with the launch of OnTheMarket Software and a suite of agent and buyer features in September.
Jason Tebb, CEO at OnTheMarket, said:
"I’m incredibly proud of the latest additions we’ve brought to our site. In particular, we’re really pleased to be leading developments in the way consumers with access needs search for property. Our goal to listen, innovate and deliver applies not only to our agent customers but to our consumers too, so making property searches as easy and inclusive as possible is really important to us.
I’d also like to thank Guy [Harris, Founder of AccessiblePRS, a property consultancy which specialises in accessibility in the rental sector] for his invaluable input during the development process of our Accessible features filter and this first phase of our accessibility strategy."
