The British challenger portal OpenBrix has signed an investment and distribution agreement with tenancy deposit specialist The Dispute Service (TDS).
The deal will see TDS invest in OpenBrix's blockchain-based technology and distribute the portal company's 'tlyfe' app to its tenants around the country.
The mobile app, which is still in development, will allow tenants to take control of their rental deposit and their overall renting experience and is described as a "multifunctional digital ID and rental passport... that allows tenants to be in control of all their property needs."
OpenBrix CEO, Adam Pigott said of the partnership:
“This is an exciting day for OpenBrix. Our team has worked tirelessly to develop the technology needed to better serve the property sector. We can’t wait to share it with tenants across the UK. Having a distribution deal and strategic partnership with TDS will bring tlyfe to potentially millions of tenants. With their expertise in the PRS, and our industry leading technology, we believe we can connect all elements of the property market.”
Founded in 2018 by Pigott after a successful career in estate agency, OpenBrix is the operator of a portal as well as an MLS-like system and a tenant onboarding system.
