The French new build portal vefaonline has announced its first funding round since its foundation in 2019. Participating in the round were the co-founders of leading French real estate portal SeLoger, Amal Amar and Gilles Blanchard. The amount raised and valuation was not disclosed.
Vefaonline is a new-build portal that sells housing in-bulk to institutional investors, and social landlords. It does not have the interface of a traditional real estate search portal and instead asks customers to fill in their investment criteria before sending them files on new projects to consider.
"With Margaux's experience in the real estate industry and the commercial traction that she managed to achieve in just a few months, vefaonline seemed to us to be a solution that has its place in an industry that is established but very informal", Gilles Blanchard commented.
The benefit for selling agents is that their sales are all consolidated on one channel and they get access to vefaonline's Rolodex of social and institutional landlords who will buy in bulk.
Although the company was formed three years ago by former developer Margaux Scalisi, the vefaonline platform was launched last year and is now trying to scale activities.
