New UK Portal, Vencasa, Launches

June 6, 2022

A new portal has launched in the UK. Vencasa, based in Warwickshire and founded by Max Glencross and Ben Gamble, will charge a flat fee of £250 per property listing, and is offering its service for free until September.

Described by owner Max Glencross as “doing for houses what Autotrader does for cars,” Vencasa puts owner sellers in the driving seat of their house sale.

Vencasa runs on a private, face-to-face messaging system that lets homeowners manage their home sale independently of agents, including arranging viewings and negotiating a sale price.

After they accept an offer, owners take a back seat while solicitors deal with the legalities of the sale.

Ben Gamble, cofounder, said:

“Vencasa lets you sell your house the 21st century way. With the rising cost of living, paying an estate agent thousands of pounds when selling your house is far from ideal.

“There are limited ways to put your house on the market, and most of them come with hidden extra costs and high commissions. We want to disrupt the sector with our new face-to-face model.”

Vencasa is also committed to helping the environment, and has pledged to plant 16 trees for each new listing.
