Vacational rental company, Petite Retreats, offers tiny homes, yurts, cottages, teepees, and covered wagons across the country to the modern traveler.
Last year, the firm debuted the Tuxbury Tiny House Village in New Hampshire, with five adorable houses ranging from 180 to 310 square feet called Emerson, Henry, Clara, Riley and Murphy (from $139).
Each home sleeps four and has a kitchenette, a full bathroom and a flat-screen television. Its location in South Hampton is located between Boston and Portsmouth, NH — about a four-hour drive from New York.
Less than three hours from the city by car, in Lancaster, Pa., are yurts for rent (from $55). They fit five guests and feature a kitchenette plus private restrooms with showers.
Our picks that would require a flight? A tiny home at Verde Valley RV & Camping Resort, about 30 minutes outside of Sedona, Ariz.
Or opt for a yurt in Groveland, Calif. A stone’s throw from Yosemite National Park, the Yosemite Lakes campground proves a tranquil retreat.
There are also outposts in Portland, Ore., outside of Seattle in Leavenworth, Wash., and a soon-to-open tiny house village in the Florida Keys.
