IDrive Online introduces IDrive Face, facial recognition software for businesses

IDrive Online Backup, a cloud-based storage and backup service company, recently released IDrive Face. This new tool will allow clients and companies to implement face recognition into mobile apps or to add it into their own software. 

IDrive Face will provide an API so businesses can easily and swiftly deploy facial recognition services within their software as well as access to metadata storage and image analysis. 

The technology uses complex computations to both detect and analyze images for faces. By using biometric analysis for facial recognition the service can find faces within images and add several features including:

• Face Detection: The ability to find, analyze, and locate either a single or several faces within images. 
• Face Comparison: The feature to recognize multiple faces and compare then and discover similarities. 
• Face Verification: Comparing two faces and able to identify the differences between the two.
• Age and Gender Detection: Able to identify the age of a user, adult, senior, or a child. And the ability to identify the gender of the face in the image based off of facial features. 
• Emotion Recognition: Based on the images it can also detect several emotions, based on the face's expressions, including anger, sadness, and happiness. 

IDrive Face will also ensure security of all user data. They manage this by using an end-to-end SSL encryption for every single API request made. All API uses will also require its own API key to be authorized in order to be used. This key will be created through an AES-256 encryption and clients can create a new API code whenever they need one through the IDrive Face online console. 

This new IDrive Face will be available through three different plans. The Developer Plan allows for 75 transactions a minute and cost $49.50 per month. The Business Plan allows for 500 transactions a minute for $124.50 per month. And the Enterprise Plan that offers unlimited transactions and all of the API features.
