Co-founder of the shoe design startup Bucketfeet (acquired by popular indie shirt platform Threadless) Raaja Nemani sees a world of opportunity when it comes to freelance marketing - like linking brands to digital marketers, who can then take over the reins in growth, social media, email, and so on.

“Marketing, as a freelance economy, is a much larger industry than development,” Nemani said. “We want to be the platform where the best marketers want to come to freelance.”
The startup announced this week that it raised more than $1 million from a group of angel investors, almost all of which are founders of startups. Backers in the round include Nick Green, the co-founder of Thrive Market; Dan Arriola, the founder of iD Commerce and Logistics; and Greg Kaplan, the founder of Remote Year.
