Humans 4 Health by Cigna, the first collaborative platform in Spain specialized in Human Resources, celebrates one year with about 300 professionals involved in the project. This initiative, promoted by the health insurer Cigna, was created with the objective of promoting the dissemination of the know-how of the most influential professionals in the sector, contributing to its approach and offering high added value information on current issues related to the promotion of health and well-being in companies.

“The idea of creating this project of this caliber arose from the long trajectory that we have in Cigna working with companies and, specifically, with the HR departments. In all these years, professionals in this area have become managers of business culture, talent developers, change leaders and team builders. And, in this evolution, the care of employees is playing a very important role, especially in regard to their health and well-being, ”said Ana Romeo, HR Director of Cigna Spain.

After a little more than twelve months of life, Humans 4 Health by Cigna currently offers more than 120 audiovisual aids in which professionals have detailed the success stories implemented in their companies, and shared their challenges and doubts of people management. Likewise, the human resources community already has fifty articles on health and well-being in the workplace.

“The essence of Humans 4 Health by Cigna is the inspiration and mutual collaboration to achieve a better future. And precisely, if we look to tomorrow we see that it is more important than ever to work together to better respond to the challenges that will come. Especially, those related to stress management and its impact on physical and mental health,” said Juan José Montes, General Director of Cigna Spain.

Business stress, the main challenge to address

On the occasion of the anniversary of the platform, Cigna has celebrated an event aimed at HR managers, whose main focus has been to promote the importance of controlling corporate stress, one of the main challenges to face within companies when treating chronic diseases.

For this, the health insurer has presented for the first time in Spain its latest initiative worldwide: Stress Visualization Experience, which allows to know, assess and visualize the stress levels of a person. This initiative combines the analysis of biomedical data with digital art, and is part of a worldwide awareness campaign of the company.

As Ana Romeo has pointed out, “We have partnered with doctors, artists and experts in technology and innovation to develop a unique program based on the possibility of real visualization of stress levels, and with various personalized suggestions of activities and advice. All with only one goal: to see stress in a totally different way.”

According to Cigna's study, ‘360 Wellbeing Survey 2019: Well and Beyond’, 71% of Spaniards suffer stress, placing themselves above countries such as the United Kingdom or France. This situation not only has consequences at the psychological level, but also at the physical level. Therefore, thanks to Cigna's Stress Visualization Experience, it is possible to extract a graphic image of the person's stress levels through a heat map. Cold colors reveal low levels, while warm colors show the highest rates.

At the meeting, Patricia Ramírez Loeffler, sports psychologist, writer and lecturer, has addressed this issue highlighting the importance of caring for communication, reducing uncertainty, managing failure, strengthening ties between employees or training your mind to reduce levels of stress in the workforce, beyond initiatives such as promoting healthy lifestyle habits, offering mindfulness workshops or undertaking conciliation measures.

In addition, the event included a small colloquium with Mario Burrull, Director of Human Resources of GE Healthcare, one of the professionals of the sector that decided to join Humans 4 Health by Cigna in its earliest days. In this one to one, Burrull has detailed one of the company's main programs in health promotion, HealthAhead, and has analyzed the challenges and challenges most shared by the community on the platform. Among them, those related to stress management in the company and the most appropriate methodology to achieve happy and motivated employees.
