Proptech hackathon for the office sector launches to showcase innovation in technology in accelerating office buildings' digitalization.

Built under the theme “On the fast track to future-proof”, the competition is the result of the partnership between Skanska Romania, a local subsidiary of one of the largest real estate developers worldwide, and Proptech Romania. Skanska experts, together with startups and IT companies, will direct their resources and expertise towards finding the most innovative technological solutions to promote the digitization of the real estate industry in the office sector.

The event will take place on November 22-23, 2019 and will take place at the new Impact Hub location, located in Equilibrium, the latest Skanska project. More than 20 participating teams will be selected, who, within the competition, will identify innovative solutions to the challenges faced by the real estate developer. The creative process will be facilitated by mentors from companies that have joined the initiative: together with Skanska, IT specialists from top companies such as Microsoft and Honeywell will be mentoring.

“The competition ‘On the fast track to futureproof’is developed under the umbrella of the Skanska CEE innovation strategy and we are proud to organize this event in Romania, bringing added value to the region. It is very important for us that we have business partners who, like us, set the following trends and we can build together a community of experts in technology and real estate. We rely on the synergy of the participating teams with the proposed mentors and ambassadors, and we trust that it will be a beautiful experience for all involved."

— Aurelia Luca, Country Director Skanska Property Romania
