With the added popularity of virtual tours when it comes to the search for a new home, the technology can’t stagnate. Realtor.com® knows this and has added more options to its 3D tour service to keep up with consumer demand.
Rachel Morley, Chief Product Officer at realtor.com®, explains:
“Concerns around the pandemic certainly heightened the demand for 3D tours, as many home shoppers wanted to explore the home but didn’t feel comfortable visiting in person.
“However, they are more than just a COVID solution—they are now an important option for consumers during their home buying journey… which we know leads to more views and better engagement.”
Realtor.com® is adding two new technology providers to assist in the move—Asteroom and CloudPano. Together, the three companies will offer real estate agents and brokerages the ability to add more virtual home tours to their listings.
Currently, realtor.com® allows professionals to upload Matterport tours to a listing. Matterport is the current leader in global virtual image capturing technology. With the addition of Asteroom and CloudPano, real estate professionals have the option of three different technology companies to choose from when creating a virtual tour.
Matterport, Asteroom, and CloudPano all offer services through mobile devices, meaning real estate agents and brokerages won’t need to purchase an additional expensive camera to tap into the lucrative world of virtual tour creation. They can just download an app and use the camera they have in their pocket.
Realtor.com® comments:
“By providing agents with low-cost, easy-to-use options, realtor.com® will increase the accessibility and availability of 3D tours on its listings.”
